FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Austin TX - 1 July 2008 - Oak Micros announces an I/O extension board for its Atmel ATmega128 and ATmega1281 based microcontroller devices called the om128-ext. The om128-ext plugs into the Oak Micros om128, ZX-128e, ZX-128ne, ZX-1281e, and ZX-1281ne devices and provides access to 18 I/O pins (Port A, Port C, and pins 0 and 1 of port G) and an additional 8 output only pins that are latched via Port A. When the om128-ext is plugged into a compatible Oak Micros device, the total size of the two boards is 3.75" by 0.9". All pins use a 0.1" spacing and are configured so that it is socketable or breadboard can be used. The om128-ext also provides a 34 pin socket for additional plug in daughter cards for other kinds of memory-mapped I/O devices.
